What a cookie is here
A cookie is a small file a site stores in your browser; local and session storage are its close relatives. We use as few as the service can work with, and we do not sell what they record.
This website (webhr.in)
This website sets no cookies for visitors and loads nothing from other companies — no analytics, advertising, chat widgets, fonts or images from third parties. That is why it shows no cookie banner: there is nothing to consent to. (Our own staff who edit the blog keep a sign-in token in local storage; visitors never get one.)
The WebHR app
Everything the app keeps in your browser is listed below. Strictly necessary items keep you signed in and secure; preferences remember choices that are yours alone and never leave your browser.
| Name | Type | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
| hr_app_session | Cookie Strictly necessary | Keeps you signed in. HttpOnly and Secure, so page scripts cannot read it. | 60 minutes, or until you sign out |
| hr_app_refresh | Cookie Strictly necessary | Renews your session without asking for your password again. HttpOnly and Secure. | 7 days, or until you sign out |
| hrms_access_token | Local storage Strictly necessary | A copy of your sign-in token that the app sends with each request. | Until you sign out |
| vitehr.device_id | Local storage Strictly necessary | A random identifier for this browser, used when your employer limits sign-in to known devices. | Until you clear site data |
| hrms_remembered_login | Local storage Preferences | Your email address, only if you tick "Remember my email". Never your password. | Until you untick it or clear site data |
| hrms_theme | Local storage Preferences | Light or dark theme. | Until you clear site data |
| hrms.lastWorkspaceSlug | Local storage Preferences | The workspace you last signed in to. | Until you clear site data |
| hrms.recentNav.v1 | Local storage Preferences | Screens you opened recently, for the menu shortcut. | Until you clear site data |
| hrms_api_timeout_ms | Local storage Preferences | How long the app waits for the server. | Until you clear site data |
| getting-started-hidden:*, workspace-checklist-*, workspace-notif-last-seen-* | Local storage Preferences | Which tips you dismissed, your checklist progress and when you last saw notifications. | Until you clear site data |
| directory-query | Session storage Preferences | Carries a name you clicked into the people directory search. | Until the tab closes |
Controlling them
Your browser can block or delete cookies and site data from its settings. Blocking the strictly necessary ones will sign you out and prevent sign-in; the rest can be removed with no loss of function beyond the preference itself.
